“ Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much. ”
 – Helen Keller

Mission Statement
To improve the academic and extracurricular experience for the MHS student body.  Create a touchstone marquee location for the community. To enhance the relationship between the school and the community.

Story
Mitchell High School has a deep and tremendous history of success and tradition.  It means something to be alumni of Mitchell.  Our community has suffered through an economic downturn.  Respect for Mitchell has waned.  Those that feel negatively about MHS has grown.  In our halls and in our classrooms however, our staff and students are working hard and have pride in their school.  Test scores are on the rise.  Mitchell High School as a facility though, is showing its age.  District 11 is addressing many of the issues.  We do not want to only return MHS to its former glory; we want to make MHS an even brighter beacon in our community.  We have created a culture of out-sourcing.  We look to make MHS even more of a home. With this project, we will address a myriad of issues facing MHS and our community.

What

The Mitchell Stadium and Community Improvement Project is a massive overhaul of the grounds on the south side.  This project will be almost entirely community funded.  We will put in a state-of-the-art stadium for soccer, football, and track.  We will put fences, lighting, dugouts, and scoreboards on our baseball and softball fields to make them true home fields.  We will put lights on the tennis courts.  We will build a building under the stands that will have a new practice facility for wrestling.  This building will also have a new weight room, bigger locker rooms, trainer’s room, and equipment room.  This building will also include three (3) multi-purpose conference rooms as well.

Who

This project is a joint venture between community members, Mitchell administration, Mitchell coaches, and local businesspersons.

Why
Our community and students deserve the best possible Mitchell High School that we can give them.  This improvement will address many of the needs MHS currently faces while giving the community a source of pride.  The more that MHS succeeds and grows that will spread throughout our community.  It will encourage economic growth and increase property values.  Any non-profit ventures in our community will get priority access to the facilities as well.

If Not: We will continue to outsource the experiences of being a Marauder.  The relief that this project would afford our school will go unaddressed.

How can you help
With this being a largely community funded project, we need monetary support.
Please contact Coach Anderson at corey.anderson2@d11.org or (719) 510-4113 to make a donation.  We will be recognizing all donations within the stadium and will contact you on what you want your spot to say.

Non-Money Help
We are in need of those with expertise in the construction process. We need engineers, architects, construction companies, etc… If you cannot help in those capacities then we could use your positive energy!  Spread the word and garner excitement for this project.  The more that know about it, the more that will help.

Our students deserve it.  Our community deserves it.
